PROBLEM STATEMENT
Limited Access to Education
Many underprivileged and refugee children in Malaysia only receive basic schooling. Nearly 1 in 4 disadvantaged children still struggle with basic reading and writing, and refugee learning centres often lack funding, trained teachers, and proper learning materials. This puts these children at a clear disadvantage compared to their peers.
LacK of Mentorship
These children often do not have consistent role models or mentors to guide them in setting goals, making decisions, and planning for their future. Without proper guidance or enrichment activities, they lack the support systems that many other children benefit from, making it harder to build direction, motivation, and long-term aspirations.
Soft Skills Gap
Because their environment focuses mostly on basic academics, many underprivileged children miss out on essential soft skills like communication, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. Studies show that over 70% of children in orphanages struggle with low self-esteem and confidence, making it harder for them to succeed in school, activities, and future careers.
