Hope2Kids is a really special organisation that has made the children feel safe and cared for. Having a child feel comfortable by my side and slowly open up their wonderful personality is something truly special to me. Seeing them express themselves freely and confidently, knowing they won’t be judged and that they feel safe around us, is such a beautiful thing to witness. I’m so grateful for these experiences with Hope2Kids, because they’ve helped me realise how precious our youth are and how big of a role we play in their lives.

One of my most memorable moments with Hope2Kids was visiting a child in the hospital ward who was initially quite down but slowly opened up as we interacted with him. He shared his dream of becoming like Ronaldo, enjoyed the activities, and was genuinely happy receiving the sock dolls. Hope2Kids is full of great people who are passionate and motivated in helping underprivileged kids. The people I’ve met in Hope2Kids are some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, all positive and pleasant to be around, and truly representative of the values of the organisation.

Volunteering with Hope2Kids at Rumah Ozanam definitely showed me how much our presence means to the children. I realised just how creative and talented they are — they just need a small push to shine. I think many of them hadn’t really thought about what they liked about themselves or even their peers before this, and the activities really opened that space. The activities were very unique and I could tell the kids genuinely loved every moment.

Success Stories

Ariana, 13

Ariana shared her dream of becoming a criminal lawyer but wasn’t sure how to start. With guidance from Hope2Kids members studying Law, she planned actionable steps, like joining her school debate and public speaking classes and focusing on Sejarah and Malay.
By the end, she felt inspired and motivated, sharing her own quote: “Even when you hit rock bottom, the only way you can go is up.” She’s determined to never give up on her dream.

Madeline, 16

Madeline wasn’t sure how to plan for her future. During our session, we helped her reflect on what mattered most and the kind of person she wanted to be, teaching her to ask questions like “What do I want to achieve?” and “What steps can I take today?” Together, we created a plan she felt proud of. Afterwards, she thanked us and kept it in her room as a daily reminder to stay focused on her dreams.
